If you are a 6-year-old in #Gaza, you have already lived through 3 separate wars. Nearly 1 in 2 children in Gaza suffer psychological distress
One of the nine countries of Rotary District 2452 is Palestine, where the people of Gaza, especially its children and civilians were the most inflicted. The UN says at least 2,104 Palestinian died, including 1,462 civilians, of whom 495 were children and 253 women. Around 11,000 people were injured (many badly damaged, lost limbs, permanent health damages, traumas, etc. .), and up to ten per cent of them with long-term or permanent impairments. Some half a million people were displaced at the height of hostilities, and approximately 108,000 were made homeless. Around 13 per cent of the housing stock was damaged, including up to 20,000 homes totally destroyed or rendered uninhabitable.
Rotarians of District 2452 are appealing to all peace lovers to support, initially by donating to this fundraising organized by Rotarians of our District. There are many organizations doing good in working for relief, and we chose donations from this fundraising to be directly provided to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) which is heavily involved in easing the pains in Gaza. PCRF is a non-political, non-profit organization dedicated to healing the wounds of war, occupation and poverty for children in the Middle East, regardless of their nationality, religion, race or gender.
This appeal is issued and endorsed by Rotary District 2452 (Check official website www.RotaryD2452.org and District Page www.Facebook.com/RotaryD2452 and our facebook page )

Now that ceasefire is implemented, and as Rotarians look for service projects in the six areas of focus, none will be more suitable than sponsoring one in Gaza. Note that as a result to this continuing disastrous situation, Gaza today is susceptible to a health disaster and spread of diseases; Water is scarce and sanitation is in shambles, with hospital wards are overcrowded; Health services are suffering and certainly mothers and children are the most to suffer. Many schools (public and UN sponsored) were directly hit, damaging many facilities, which rendered them difficult if not impossible to use in the coming academic year, and this will spread the illiteracy rate in the area. The complete damage of infrastructures and “tsunami-like” in many zones and areas rendered businesses and economy to collapse. And alas, certainly Peace is not in sight and the conflict goes on and hatred grows.
These are the areas were Rotarians excel in addressing, all the Areas of Focus, so we appeal to interested individuals, Clubs and NGOs to send their pledges to support projects and Global Grants when formalized to Rotary.District2452.4Gaza@gmail.com no matter how little, no matter how symbolic, we can prove as proud members of Rotary, we can make a difference.

The PCRF is a legally-registered non-political, non-profit, 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization established in 1991 by concerned people to address the medical and humanitarian needs of Palestinian and Arab youths in the Middle East. We have provided thousands of children life-saving care based on their need, not on religion, gender, nationality or sect.
The main objective of the PCRF is to identify and treat every child in the Middle East in need of specialized surgery not available to them locally. We locate, sponsor and run international, volunteer medical missions to the Middle East, in additional to locating free medical care abroad for children who cannot be adequately treated in the Middle East. The PCRF is the main organization regularly sending injured and sick Arab children to North and South America, the Middle East and Europe for free care that is not available to them there. Since 1991 over 1,000 children have been abroad for millions of dollars of donated care, and over 10,000 have had complex surgery by our visiting medical missions to the region. The PCRF has been awarded the top 4-star rating by Charity Navigator for fiscal management, while being able to treat more kids than any other charity in the Middle East.
