Let me explain why we decided to join the 2019 edition of Cycling4Gaza.
With all the unrest in the world today, the situation in Palestine has been the most constant one in our lives. We grew up hearing about it. It was something we all just automatically grew to learn as kids. It’s also something we know and continue to live with as adults. The thing is, it has become painfully normal. It’s normal because we hear about it all the time, and because the majority of us are not directly affected. We feel, and then we move on.
The time has come to ACTUALLY do something and not just say it in passing, so here goes nothing.
Us and an amazing group of people will be cycling approximately 350 km across 4 countries in Europe to raise funds for the PCRF. This year’s theme; Cycling4Freedom, will focus on Freedom of movement and Freedom to access healthcare for the people of Gaza. The funds raised will sponsor the following projects through the PCRF:
1.Sending injured and sick children abroad for free medical care
2. Sponsoring medical missions to provide treatment in Gaza
3. Sponsoring physical therapy for children with Cerebral Palsy in Northern Gaza
4. Training for doctors and nurses in Pediatric Cancer Care abroad
With that being said, our journey begins now. You might not be physically with us, but with your donation and/or support, we're taking a piece of you with us on one of the biggest & most challenging experiences of our lives.
Frankfurt to Brussels, here we come.
