Hey all. On April 1st, I will be running along side my fellow Team Palestine members in the Right To Movement 2016 Marathon in Bethlehem, Palestine! Check it out.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xbSF_WdUcc.
This is Team Palestine's mission..
We are Team Palestine for PCRF. A group of dedicated runners participating in various events for the ultimate goal of raising money for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund was established in 1991 by concerned people in the U.S. to address the medical and humanitarian crisis facing Palestinian youths in the Middle East. Running for PCRF, as you may know, helps thousands of children in the Middle East who are in need of medical attention that is not available to them in their homeland. Team Palestine is a unique way to not only raise money, but to help provide sick and injured children with the specialized medical care they desperately need. We run various events across the Chicagoland area including the Shamrock Shuffle, The Bank of America Chicago Marathon, and First Midwest Bank Half Marathon to name a few. As a team, we believe 'Every Mile Saves a Child'.
The Palestine Children's Relief Fund is a great charity. I mean look at their rating, you can't get much better than this! http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=6421#.Vu3RihIrLBJ
The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund is a registered non-political, non-profit, 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization that was established in 1991 by concerned people in the U.S. to address the medical and humanitarian crisis facing Palestinian youths in the Middle East. It has since expanded to help suffering children from the region, based only on their medical needs. We do not discriminate based on religion, gender, nationality or sect. (http://www.pcrf.net/)
Here is an interview the PCRF co-founder and CEO, Steve Sosebee did on NPR about building the only pediatric cancer center in Gaza: http://www.npr.org/2015/12/06/458685066/in-gaza-kids-with-cancer-have-virtually-no-care-one-group-hopes-to-help

The Right to Movement (RTM) Palestine Marathon in Bethlehem will be held on April 1, 2016. The RTM is a global running community with a cause behind them. Everyone has the right to freedom of movement, but not everyone has the option. Restriction on movement is one of the major challenges for the Palestinian people living under occupation. Palestinians cannot move freely on roads, or from one city to another. The Palestinians right to movement is controlled by their ID, permits, which city they live in, or who they are married to. Ever been through Qalandia? Then you know why we do this! The State of Palestine does not even control the full olympic marathon distance of 42,195 KM. This is why we do it.
The Palestine Children's Relief Fund (www.pcrf.net) was established in 1991 to help address the medical and humanitarian crisis facing Palestinian youth in the Middle East. It has become the largest provider of free, specialized surgical care to all children regardless of race, religion or ethnic background. Since its inception in 2009, Team Palestine has raised over $300,000 for PCRF (www.teampalestine.com). In 2016, your donation will benefit a cancer center to be built in Gaza, Palestine. Please support our runners by making a donation to this worthy cause. Every mile saves a child!
